1. What This Site Is

EM Behavioral PrepKit is a free, open-source behavioral interview preparation guide for engineering managers and technical leaders. It is a static website with no user accounts, no login, and no server-side data processing.

2. Data We Collect

TypePurposeStored where
Cookie consent preference Remember your privacy choice Your browser (localStorage)
Page views & interactions Understand usage (analytics only) Analytics provider โ€” only if you consent

We do not collect names, email addresses, payment information, or any other personally identifiable information. No account is required to use this site.

3. Cookies & localStorage

KeyCategoryPurposeExpires
gdpr_consent Strictly Necessary Stores your cookie preference so we don't ask again Until you clear site data

Analytics cookies are only set after you click Accept All or enable Analytics in Cookie Preferences. You can change your preference at any time via the "Cookie Preferences" link in the page footer.

4. Analytics

If you consent to analytics cookies, we may use an analytics service to collect aggregate, anonymous usage data such as page views and click events. No personal profiles are built from this data, and it is not sold to third parties.

Analytics are disabled by default and are only activated after your explicit consent.

5. Third-Party Services

ServicePurposePrivacy Policy
GitHub Pages Website hosting GitHub Privacy Statement
Google Analytics Anonymous usage analytics (only if you consent) Google Privacy Policy

6. Your Rights

Under GDPR and similar regulations, you have the right to:

  • Access โ€” request a copy of any data we hold about you
  • Erasure โ€” request deletion of your data (clearing browser localStorage removes all stored data on our end)
  • Withdraw consent โ€” change your cookie preferences at any time via the footer link
  • Complain โ€” lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

Because this is a static site with no server-side storage, clearing your browser's site data effectively removes all data associated with your visit.

7. Data Retention

Your consent preference is stored locally in your browser until you clear your site data or change your preference. We retain no server-side records of individual visitors.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy occasionally. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top and, if the changes materially affect how we use your data, we will bump the consent version so you are asked to re-consent.
